New Feature: Site Monitoring

We have implemented site monitoring that scans our systems every 5 minutes to test functionality. Should a problem be detected, our support team is paged. This will insure that we are notified of any issues as soon as possible and have the ability to address in a timely manner.

New Feature: Backup to Email

SOAR's Backup Policy can be found in the Online Help under Policies.

In addition to our standard daily full backups, you can now receive a backup file via email on a weekly basis. This will provide an additional level of backup and peace of mind as a SOAR customer. To activate this feature go to Control Panel/Backup.

Upgrade: Calender List View

We continue working on the Calendar to provide better usability and advanced features. We are very pleased to announce the new Calendar List View feature !

The List View of the Calendar has been completely redone to provide a useful list of future events in a table format. With this upgrade you can now easily create a list of upcoming events with all relevant information. You can also select the number of months to include in the listing. The Print button will also provide a Calendar List View suitable for printing, without other portions of the unit website displayed such as navigation and header.

Upgrade: My Profile

The login block (top left of all pages) has been upgraded in anticipation of the upcoming Roster Feature. The block contains the title "User", the user's login name (centered), a link for the user to change their profile information (email address, password, phone, etc.), and a link to logout from the unit website. The "My Profile" link will not be shown for shared accounts (member, leader, admin) as unit members should not be able to change information on those accounts, only an administrator should.

Moving forward, this block will provide the opportunity for unit members to add/modify additional information about themselves and their boys.

Policies

This section describes various SOAR policies. If you have any questions on a specific policy, please contact support@soarol.com

Upgrade: User Information

Your website members can now access and change their information themsevles.

The memeber's username located in the login box in the top left of the screen is now a link to their profile information. They can change their email address, password, and personal information.

This feature is blocked for shared accounts, for which only the Administrator should be able to change this information.

Upgrade: Import User

The Import User feature previously created the User ID (Login ID) for a member automatically from the first, last name, and email address.

You can now import the User ID you would like for each member.

If you leave this field blank in the import, the system will still automatically generate an User ID.

Upgrade: Folders for Photo Albums

You can now organize your Photo Albums into Folders.

When you create a new Photo Album there is a new option called Parent. This option defines which Photo Album will be the "parent" of the Photo Album you are creating. The Parent item "<top>" is the top level folder and will be shown first. Thus, you can create a hierarcy of Photo Albums.

As an example... you can create a Photo Album called "2006" with the Parent of "<top>". You can then create a Photo Album called "Pinewood Derby" with the Parent of "2006". Then you can place photos in the "Pinewood Derby" album. Through this method, you can organize a large number of photo albums for easy browsing.

Upgrade: Link/Unlink for Rich Text Editor

When added content to a unit website, web addresses and email addresses were automatically turned into links. The "text" of these links was the same as the link itself and could not be changed.

Two new buttons are now available in the Rich Text Editor for your use.

The Link button allows you to select a section of text and attach an internet link to it. The text selected will then act as a link and when clicked follow the internet link. In this way you can control the text that is linked.

When you click the Link button (after selecting text to link to) a popup window will appear. The options for this feature are:
